Reports indicate that American actress Amanda Bynes has entered a new inpatient mental health facility for treatment.
TMZ revealed that the 37-year-old former child star opted for intensive inpatient treatment in Orange County at the beginning of July.
This decision came shortly after Bynes left an outpatient program in the Los Angeles area.
According to the outlet, Amanda expressed a desire to no longer live alone and sought a more therapeutic environment. It was also stated that the previous treatment was not providing sufficient assistance for her needs.
Insiders disclosed that Amanda, who gained fame through her roles on Nickelodeon in the late 90s, was referred to the new center by her previous treatment facility.
Amanda feels more comfortable being surrounded by healthcare professionals, therapists, and fellow patients, as this allows for increased social interaction.
At the new center, she is receiving 24-hour care and regular therapy sessions, in addition to engaging in activities aimed at developing skills for her post-facility life.
Sources mentioned that Amanda took the initiative to change her treatment plan.
Last month, the All That alum was put on a 5150 psychiatric hold, following her release from a mental health facility where she stayed for three weeks.
Several days later, it was reported that her psychiatric hold was extended by at least one week as medical professionals worked on stabilizing her medication and therapy.
According to TMZ, Amanda functions well when she complies with her medication, but tends to stop once she feels better, leading to a relapse.
During her previous conservatorship, which ended in March 2022, her mother Lynn was responsible for ensuring that she took her prescribed medication.
